OFFC: Hall Joins Brian Graham Racing
Rookie Andrew Hall has announced he will contest the remainder of the 2006 Ontario Formula Ford season with Brian Graham Racing.
A front-running driver in his first season of competition, Hall joins Brian Graham Racing having previously driven for Mortimer Racing in the Ontario Formula Ford Challenge. Hall will contest the final four races of the season at Mosport International Raceway piloting a BGR Van Diemen car. The Ottawa native currently leads the rookie standings and is ninth in the overall standings, having scored three top-10 finishes and one top-five finishes.
Born in England, the teenager became involved in motorsports upon moving to Canada. Commencing in karts, Hall immediately showed talent behind the wheel, winning the Rookie of the Year award in the 4-stroke junior class at the National Capital Kart Club. Moving up to the Rotax Junior class the following year, he finished third overall. Hall captured his first championship in 2003, before continuing to race karts for two more years. This year the youngster elected to make the move up to car racing, entering the Ontario Formula Ford Challenge.
Based in Barrie, Ont., Brian Graham Racing has been in operation since in 1998. A leading open-wheel prep shop, the team has won several races throughout North America, including the CASC Championships in Canada and finishing on the podium at the prestigious SCCA National Championship Runoffs. In 2006, BGR has contested races in the Cooper Tires Formula Ford 2000 Championship, Ontario Formula Ford Challenge and the CASC Ontario Region Championship.
In addition to contesting Hall in Rounds 11 and 12 of the Ontario Formula Ford Challenge at Mosport, Brian Graham will have two additional cars under the team awning. Regular driver Greg Beresford will contest the Formula Libre races in a Star Mazda car, while John Bondar will make his open-wheel debut driving a Formula Ford Zetec car in the Formula Libre races. The race action gets underway at Mosport Saturday morning, September 16th.
